All you have to do is to not have Jaws start at the logon screen, and set it to have Jaws Never start for user. I also use control-alt J for the current version. You can also navigate to the desktop, quickly type in the letters j a w, and be right at the Jaws icon, unless you have other icons starting with those letters.
