If you have a newer oS, get a newer version.

The multimedia suite is a commercial product. But I think they allow you to
download trial versions of the software. You'll have to look at their site,
or use whatever means you employ for downloading software.

Thank you, I did know that. The stressful part is going to be for my 58 year
old memory to recall all of those steps.

If need be I'll keep a file open on another system. Believe me I am far from
infallible.

Hey. Don't stress. Compatibility mode is cool and designed specifically so
you can't break anything, even though there's no gguarantee the programme
will work exactly the same as it used to on your old OS.

I did forget to mention that you might want to copy that .msi package file
to a desktop or folder of your choice. Windows 10 in particular might
complain about trying to run it from the temp folder.

Cheers, and let me know if it works.

.

This might be stressful, but still worth a try to be sure.

Thank you for the directions on how to proceed. I'll let you what the
results turn out to be.

Hey David.

I am using nero 11, so I'm not sure how or if your nero 6 will work.
However, you can try this and see what happens:

Run the Nero installer. Do you get an error message? Just click ok.
Then go to the run dialogue box with windows-r. Type "%temp%". This should
put you in your temporary files folder.
Look for a folder called "nero install files". Nero has left some stuff
there for Windows to clean up later. You should look for a file called
"nero.mmstrial.msi" or something like that. The name will probably be
different, but I suppose whatever .msi file is in there ought to do the
trick. Don't run this yet.
Open its properties dialogue with alt-enter. Arrow over to the compatibility
tab. You will see a combo box which lets you choose which version of Windows
you want to force compatibility with. Choose whichever oS worked best with
your nero.
Check the "run as administrator" box, if it's there; then click apply, and
ok.
Now run the .msi file.
. And that's it. No guarantees, but this method definitely works with Nero
11. Good luck.

Since I like to gather information where ever possible please fill me in on
how this is done. It is Nero version 6 if that matters.

Hi David. It is a 64 bit system. The reason, I think, your nero won't
install is because of a flash incompattibility issue. There is a workaround.
You really don't need this feature anyway, but it causes the install process
to abort prematurely. If you are interested I can send you a message off
list explaining how to get around this issue. I haven't had any other
problems at all, so that's the only thing I can think of that might be
preventing you from installing. To be honest even though I have a 64-bit
machine, most of the applications I use are still 32-bit anyway. So it goes,
I guess, at least until I upgrade to Office 2016...

If I were to guess then your system is 32 bit. I have Nero burning ROM as
well but it won't install on any 64 bit system.

Come to think of it I do have a windows 10 system that is 32 bit, oh the
possibilities I might have to investigate.

I use Nero burning Rom. It's not too new but works on my Windows 10 machine
like a breeze.

You don't have to be crazy to run a list like this, but it does help.
