Laura,

I believe Fernando is right that you've landed in a PDF file. I have a partial
solution, although it doesn't lie in IE, but in Firefox. Perhaps you have this
browser already installed. If not, it's a useful alternative for when IE
doesn't work.

Here are the steps:

Open Firefox.
If you know the website that led you to the PDF file, open that website.
Find the link on that website that goes to the PDF file, but don't click on it.
With focus on that link, press the right-mouse key. This is the key on the
numpad next to the JAWS cursor key.
Arrow down to "Copy location link." Press enter to copy it.

I'm not sure how you could save that link as a favorite. However, you could
copy it into a file for future use.

Credit goes to a fellow JAWS user named Brad.

If any of these steps are unclear, please post again.

I've never had an issue with adding any web pages to my favorites list before
now ...... Is there anything I can do because the only way to get off that page
is to close IE ......

Hi Laura,

In that case, you probably are actually in a PDF document instead of a web
page. I suppose that because CTRL+D is the hotkey for document properties in
Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

You can give Control-d a shot. It works for me.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Adding a web page to favorites with IE

Hello,

When I have a web page I want to save to my favorites list, I press alt + a and
enter on "add to favorites" without any problems .. I have a web page I want to
save to my favorites list but nothing happens when I pres alt + a and nothing
happens when I try to go back by pressing alt + left arrow or backspace.

Is there another way to add this site to my favorites list? .. Thanks ..

Laura
