Jerry,

I can't tell from your original post if you tried the conversion from a PDF
file. Assuming you started with a PDF file, just open the file. JAWS may or may
not be able to read all, part or none of it. Either way, stop JAWS from
speaking with the control key, then initiate the OCR process with (as you know)
JAWS key+spacebar, then o, then d. JAWS will tell you if the process has
started or if it can't.

Yes I did. I know that you should wait for a few minutes, but after doing so,
there was still nothing. Thanks

Did you hit a "D" after the "O"?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting
different results.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Scanned Image and JAWS OCR

Morning all.

I just scanned a copy of my discharge papers from the US Coast Guard. After
saving it, I tried to open it and read it using JAWS OCR. I pressed the JawsKey
and Spacebar. Then I hit O for OCR, and then D. I heard a piano chime, but
nothing from JAWS after that. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong on this?
I went into my pictures folder in This PC to get the properties on the image,
but could not get any specifics on it. I am running JAWS 17 and Windows 10 on a
Dell laptop. I am also using a Canon CanoScan scanner. Thanks in advance.

Jerry
