I do a lot of research on the internet, so Edge, without the ability to copy, is not that functional for me, though I've been playing with it, wanting to learn as much as I can. Should I put in the October update for my JAWS 18 version? And just one more unrelated question. Smile. Would it ever be possible for JAWS to allow passwords to be spoken as we type, instead of hearing star, star, star? It could be a toggle, so users could select which they wanted. But many people have hand issues as they get older and it's great to have our keystrokes confirmed. JAWS already has a setting to help those with hand issues by allowing the insert key to be a sticky key so that commands can be pressed sequencially. Text selection and copy/paste is not yet working in Edge with JAWS. I suggest using one of the other browsers as your default. Support for Chrome, IE, and Firefox is much more robust in these with assistive technology today. A JAWS tech told her there was an October update. My Edge is reading properly. Should I put the new update in anyway? I plan to download 2018 but It will probably be a month or two before the Fall Creator's update finds my computer, so I thought I'd let more technical people test-drive the 2018 version of JAWS for the next few weeks. Also, the JAWS tech told my friend, if she understood correctly, that there is no virtual cursor in Edge. When I've tried to copy material in Edge, JAWS says, "selection using the virtual cursor is not yet supported in Edge." I had assume from this that the virtual cursor is being used.
