Hi Kevin,

This is how I would do it using Word 2010, so Try the following:
1. With the .DOCX file open press, Alt + F, then press the letter, A, to 
open the, Save As, dialogue.
Note: If you want to change the name of the file, after invoking the above 
keystrokes you're in an edit field, so you can change the name of the file 
here.
2. Tab 1 time to the Save As Type combobox, navigate to, Plain Text.txt, by 
arrowing or 1st letter navigation.
3. Press enter on, Plain Text.txt, tab through some other options to the, 
Okay, button & press enter.
Note: After you've highlighted the Plain Text option instead of pressing 
enter you can tab through some other options to the,Save, button if you 
would like to explore the other options in this dialogue, then after 
selecting the, Save button, then tab to the, Okay button, & press enter.
