You are right, but the problem with Edge is that is not fully featured and
customizable even compared with IE, with no mention of its accessibility
approach that discourages virtual cursors like the JAWS one.

It's definitely the websites. I have JAWS 18, and IE just will not work
properly on some sites I use often, now, like goodreads.com. The programme also
crashes a hell of a lot more than Firefox does. IE is basically a dead browser.
That's why microsoft is pushing Edge so hard with Windows 10. Of course, IE
will still continue to be somewhat supported, at least until Windows 7 and
maybe 8 are no longer suppoted, because I don't think Edge works with those
operating systems at all. But Microsoft is also fully aware that users can use
Firefox or Chrome.

It is mainly html 5.0 that causes a problem with IE and later version of JAWS
such as 14.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] another browser question

I also have been a long time IE user, but realize some sites just don't work
with it anymore and then mostly I use Firefox, which I find easier to use than
Chrome. But I still have an older version of Jaws, which is 14 and I wonder how
much that plays into things. I know the person initially who asks has Jaws 18,
but I just wonder how much the version of Jaws has to do with the accessibility
of the browser, or is it just the changes in websites these days in general.
Thanks in advance. Judy & Libby
