try to hit "shift+F8" with the login screen, or just hit the space bar. the ctrl+alt+j, as a jaws hotkey it doesn't work sometimes here, I've changed it into "ctrl+alt+f6", it works much better here. so try to put some other hotkey for jaws that works for you.
