This allows you to open an application by pressing the Windows key together with one of the numbers on the keyboard above the letters. This Windows 7 method of opening applications never fails me. Here's an example of how you pin an application to the taskbar. After following these directions, you should be able to open IE simply by pressing Windows key+1. How to put Internet Explorer in the task bar. 1. Go to "all programs" by pressing the Windows key and arrowing up once. 2. Press I until you land on Internet Explorer. Do not press enter. 3. Instead, press the applications key and arrow up more than once. One option you'll hear is to pin to the start menu. Another is to pin to the taskbar. Press enter on this last one, pin to taskbar. That's it. I hope you'll try it.
