Hi David, Being on a list for movies and the like, we get a large amount of these questions, and I do know that you can select the various languages that may be present on the DVD itself.
I have copied and pasted the relevant portion of the help file below for your convenience. ***Begin Help Text*** Select Input Select Input Step 1: select the chapters you want to extract Select DVD-Video Source: Click the pull-down combo box to select which DVD-ROM you want to use for ripping. You can also open a file folder where your DVD files are stored, or open a single VOB file in case you don't have the needed *.IFO files. Default is the first DVD drive with a DVD-Video disc in it. Refresh DVD-ROM: Click the refresh button or press accelerator key "Alt+F" to refresh selected DVD-ROM. DVD Audio Extractor will try to read form the new inserted disc and refresh it's contents. Browse to Folder: In "Open DVD files from file folder" mode, click the Browse button or press accelerator key "Alt+W" to select the file folder where your DVD files are stored. After selection, DVD Audio Extractor will try to read form that folder and refresh it's contents. Note the program needs to read all the IFO and VOB files so when you copy DVD disc to your hard disk, make sure to copy the whole VIDEO_TS folder. Open VOB file: In "Open single DVD VOB file" mode, click the Browse button or press accelerator key "Alt+W" to select the VOB (Video Object) file. After selection, DVD Audio Extractor will read from that VOB file and refresh it's contents. Note this is only provided as a workaround when IFO files are not available or contain error. You should always avoid using it unless all other methods failed. Select Chapters: All the DVD titles, and all the chapters in each title are listed out in the tree-list view. If a title contains more than one angle, then all the angles are also listed. Select the chapters you want to play or rip by clicking on the chapter's check box, or active the row in the list and press the "SPACE" key. If you select or unselect a title (or angle), then all the chapters in that title (or angle) get selected or unselected. To get all chapters in a title expanded/collapsed, click on the "+"/"-" mark before the title or, activate the title and press the "ENTER" key. You must select at least one chapter to continue. By default, all the chapters in first Title (and first Angle, if more than one angle present) are selected. Select Audio Stream: The first audio stream on each title are selected by default. If you click at the "Audio Stream" grid of a title (or angle if more than one angle present), a combo box with all the available audio streams will be displayed. You can select the one you want to use. The stream you selected will be used on all chapters in that title. You can also active any chapter, then press the Accelerator keys "F7" and "F8" to navigate though all the available audio streams. Note that when you change audio stream for any chapter, the selected stream will be used on all the rest chapters of the same title. When multiple title are selected at once, the maximal output channels and samplerate will be calculated from the selected audio stream of the selected titles. For example, if you selected PCM (96kHz 2ch) on Title1, and AC3 (48kHz 6ch) on Title2, then the maximal output channel will be 2ch and maximal output samplerate will be 48kHz. Play Selected Chapters: Use the Play Control Panel to preview/playback the selected chapters, so that you can be sure those are really the chapters you want to extract. table with 2 columns and 5 rows Start playing the selected chapters, or resume if paused.
