Hi Net bat, Jason, & David, Okay, the log-in screen is disabled, but my problem, I now know, is my default Jaws choice at start-up! I thought I had set the computer to boot-up using J18, but I must have changed it at some point or another because it was starting up with J16, & that is the only Jaws version that doesn't go to the desktop at start-up! Thank you very much for your input.
