Hi Carlene, If the Google toolbar is installed on your computer, you'll find it in the add/remove programs dialog box, not anywhere else that you mentioned.
I would also suggest you go to the view menu and see what is checked on and what isn't. You can do this by opening an internet explorer window, then pressing alt+V to go to the view menu, then arrow down to the explorer bar sub-menu. In that menu are a number of choices that will either have a check mark beside it, or not. If you see the check mark beside an item, just press enter to disable it. I would also go through the toolbar sub-menu also to see what is checked on and what isn't. Lastly, another thing I would look at are the add-ons that are running with Internet Explorer, as some add-ons will interfere with some of internet explorer's functions. I have found that Spybot does that quite often, something I didn't find out until I had to disable each of my add-ons until I found the culprit that was interfering with my surfing habits.
