yes it was. just because its discontinued doesn't mean it stopped working.
i will continue to use window eyes until it stops working.
it works perfectly fine with all of the programs i have on my computer. jaws
does not. even for little things.
like not telling me the status of my wlm messages.
not reading the subject line in the message list when there is only 1 message
in the list without haveing to use the arrow keys to get this info.
not haveing the choice to speak your key strokes when entering passwords in
firefox and i e.
i get tired of haveing to type them in note pad and pasteing them into the
password field.
i can not concentrate on my keys when it is also saying star, star, star.
window eyes does not show the passwords on the screen when it is speaking the
keys i press.
most jaws users that are working would be useing headphones so no one would
hear the passwords anyway.
vfo told me they would refuse to do this because it is a security risk.
i say for me, at home alone not a business this would not be a security risk.
not telling me where i am in windows folder files.
like i am on the tenth out of 100 files in the list. i have to tab away and go
back into the list to get this info.
not being able to change voices on the fly without haveing to open a voice
profile to do this.
for many people, not being able to change the volume or pitch on the fly. i
can change the voice volume now with version 2018. i have been able to do these
things with window eyes for the last 10 years.
why can't jaws do these things? they have been around longer then window eyes
was.

Just out of curiosity, wasn't Window Eyes discontinued? I thought I read
that somewhere.

poor scripting.
window eyes has no problem with the message status
why can't they do this with jaws? jaws has been around just as long or
longer then window eyes was.

I just wished Jaws would speak the status of the messages when you up and
down arrow the message list in wlm. Another screen reader I used in the
past would say: unread, read, attachment, forwarded and replied to.

David,
I use the WLM you speak of which has been discontinued by Microsoft.
The auto complete does work but you have to tab away and then tab back.
Using JAWS 2018 with Win10.

Good evening;
when you say windows live mail,
are you talking about the windows live mail which has been discontinued by
Microsoft?
the one which is never to be updated?
or are you talking about the windows mail app, with windows 10.
if it's the windows live mail,
the autofill will never work, because there's no jaws scripting, so, even
the NVDA doesn't autofill.
if your talking about the windows 10 mail app, again there's no jaws
scripting, however with the NVDA, there's a windows essentials add-on which
works well.
Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but
what they conceal is vital.

I have the same problem in Windows Live Mail as you are having in Outlook.
Autocomplete has never worked for me. I began using JAWS 17, and the problem
has been unabated through JAWS 2018 on a Windows 7 64-bit Pro PC. In fact,
when I pressed Control+K just now, the Check Names feature was activated,
but no names were found. When another screen reader is used, the
Autocomplete feature works perfectly. I'm sorry to say that.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook
With a lot of help from David Whitehead, my Outlook 2016 is working. But the
auto complete isn't so basically, I suppose there's still something
corrupted. The Microsoft person told me that he'd emptied auto complete, and
that if I write the first few letters and press control K, I'd get a list of
relevant addresses from which I could choose. I tried that just now with my
daughter's address and the list the control K brought up was completely
irrelevant. And I still have to paste in the correct address for the DB
Review list. David helped me upgrade to Jaws 2018 and we got rid of the to
Miriam folder,so I think that auto complete is just not going to happen,
except for the blind democracy list for some unknown reason.
