Hello David: I think it is a wise move, with all the email security nowadays it is much preferable to use such a service than hosting one's own list.
I have my "Hosting, podcasting and broadcasting" list at hr+subscr...@groups.io and so far it works flawlessly. My Spanish-language internet radio list is with googlegroups.com and likewise, that solved the bouncing problems I used to have. I will be quick to subscribe to the new list once you set it up. Over the years and especially lately we have lost a number of good members since their providers will not allow messages from this domain to get to subscribers, and as such they bounce and get removed by the server. I can’t even contact these people privately since my email address is tied to this domain. I have to bring my people up to date on groups IO next, the good thing it is a lot easier to figure out than Mailman. It is almost 10 years since the last move and with luck this will be the last. I do not know how much longer I will keep running this beast, but believe it or not in October it will be 13 years. Bob and I never figured on it lasting this long, There is obviously a need which is the reason for keeping it. David Ferrin A clear conscience is normally the result of a failing memory.
