I was reading some reviews of anti-virus programs at this site: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ They put Avast down at number 13, which is a bit worrying to me. I don't know who published the reviews and how reliable they are, but they list Kaspersky as their second choice, and a friend of mine has found it especially good at protecting against web pages that do phishing, and other nasty things. Does anyone use Kaspersky with JAWS? Is it workable? I don't think there's a free version of it.
