My new PC had Kaspersky on it. I had to uninstall it and replace it with
AVG. The problem with Kaspersky was not just that it is as far as I can see
completely inaccessible but also that it emits an awful screaming sound
every time it came across what it considered a "threat". It was doing this
every hour or so, so I suspect that it was being very severe with what it
considered threats.

I therefore had this program screaming at me with no capacity to respond to
it and stop it screaming!

I could not wait to get rid of it.

Re the antivirus program: It is not, or not very, accessible. I've seen
one or two reports from users who tried it but didn't resolve their
difficulties between JAWS and it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Is Kaspersky anti-virus accessible?

I was reading some reviews of anti-virus programs at this site:
http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
They put Avast down at number 13, which is a bit worrying to me. I don't
know who published the reviews and how reliable they are, but they list
Kaspersky as their second choice, and a friend of mine has found it
especially good at protecting against web pages that do phishing, and other
nasty things.

Does anyone use Kaspersky with JAWS? Is it workable?

I don't think there's a free version of it.
