My new PC had Kaspersky on it. I had to uninstall it and replace it with AVG. The problem with Kaspersky was not just that it is as far as I can see completely inaccessible but also that it emits an awful screaming sound every time it came across what it considered a "threat". It was doing this every hour or so, so I suspect that it was being very severe with what it considered threats.
I therefore had this program screaming at me with no capacity to respond to it and stop it screaming! I could not wait to get rid of it.
