Hi Donnie, this means that if you set a file as read only, you can't edit it, thus protecting the file so you don't accidently delete something important or an important part of the file. If a file is set to read only and you try to delete it, a dialogue box comes up telling you you have a read only file and asking you if you want to delete it anyway.
