whenever a program locks up you can usually still 'kill' the applicationby 
going into the taskmanager with control+shit+escape.there use control+tab to 
get to the running processes and kill the one that is locked.when a program 
locks sometimes it has to do also with the fact that the computer runs out 
of ram when it is one that is not too powerful to do very many tasks at 
once.
