Hello Leonard, It appears that the error message might be related to HP ProtectTools. I don't have a notebook with the program, but apparently there is a choice for the applet on the control panel. The suggestions I read concluded that updating the driver took care of most of the embedded Security Status errors at startup. You might open the applet and see if you can update the driver through it. Otherwise, you might go to www.support.hp.com and enter in your computer model and go to the software page for your version of Windows. If they show an updated driver there I would suggest you install it.
