Dear Erin I tried this out and you are right about the acceleration being comprehensible now in Windows Media now. I am not sure what happened last time I tried this. However I could only accelerate MP3 files and not audio cads.
What I really need is something that will accelerate audio cads so that I do not have to rip them. For example I got a CD from the English National Opera today informing me of performances. Great but terribly slowly read. It may be impossible to accelerate audio CDs on a PC but if someone knows different I would be very glad to hear. I use Version 11 with Windows XP. The hot key for this is control+shift+g. It takes it up about half again as fast, so it is not incomprehensible. To get it back to normal speed, it is control+shift+n. Alternatively, if you have this, programs such as Kurzweil 1000 can play audio files such as mp3 files. I'm not sure about audio CD's.
