This sounds like the reappearance of an old JAWS bug, that was present with
Word 2000 and earlier, at some point in the JAWS8 beta releases. The JAWS9
update is not as good as the previous JAWS9, though i don't use AVG8.
(There are a few other little niggles with it.)

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem with Word2000 short cut key

I also am having this same issue with the short cut key as well as issues
with using Word to create a document.

It started when I downloaded the last update to JAWS 9.

When I am creating a document in Word, JAWS will read a sentence that I type
earlier. It does this when I read by line. When I read the entire document
it reads okay. It is difficult to write like that so I went back to using
7.1 when I am using word.

When I open word, it always has a recovered document and a lot of the time
it is blank. I know that when I closed Word there was nothing left open.
