I'm not sure what you mean by "getting past the template:, Patti.  I'll
suggest an answer, but get back to me if you need more help.
When you've worked your way through the folders, and find the template
folder, you are looking for a file  called Normal.dot
Since you are using Word 2003, the template extension is different than
Lisa who is using Word 2007.
When you are in the list view of folders you should be able to arrow down
until JAWS says you are on the Normal.dot file.
At that point you can press the delete key, and when asked if you want to
delete this file, choose the Yes option.

Hey Tom,
I tried to do all your steps, but I couldn't get passed the template. I 
couldn't right arrow, or enter on it, so what do I do now?
I have MS 2003, Jaws 8, windows XP.
