I had just an experience this evening.. I didn't complete the install or it couldn't for some reason it said. I did go on the update page of Microsoft and found 11 security updates I needed so went on and installed them and shortly thereafter, I get a message saying it was uninstalling the first part of the SP3 I had installed and removing the last part that failed and then it put it all back in correctly and as I routed jaws to see what was going on, it was reading that all services on my computer was shut off while it was doing this install.. It rebooted 3 times and for a time I had no speech which was scary to say the least.. But finally all is restored and all is updated and all services are turned back on and all is functional. I was going to look for Office 2003 and download a trial version, but after all that and me sitting here biting my nails hoping all will be o.k I just was so frazzled that I couldn't finish with what I had started. The update of Office will have to wait till another day, whew..
