You can go to the system's tray, and arrow to the complete test
and enter on
that.
Then you can up/down arrow to show scanning progress and enter on
it. Now
you have to use your jaws cursor to read the precentage of how
much AVG has
scanned. Mine usually says somewhere in the neighborhood of
93,000
files/folders so if it says less than that I know it's still
doing it's
thing.
If you don't feel comfortable in doing this, then just do nothing
it will
close it's self when it's done or might give you a close button
where you
press spacebar or alt C to close that screen..

Also
depending on the size of your hard drive. I have a 200/GB hard
drive and AVG
runs approx. 1 hour and few minutes each day at 8:00a.m. to
know if it's
doing it's thang, Press the Insert key*jaws key* and f11, this
opens your
system's tray and if you see in the list...complete test that is
AVG doing
it's scan of your computer.

I would not know how to change these settings for the virus
program. He
did that. Made it go for six hours? Is it necessary to have it

that long? And, not sure what you mean by running one program at

In other words: could I get to internet through start menu at

yes, but AVG will only let you have one of it's running programs
open at a
time.
You can change the time of your virus updates and scans to
whatever time you

escape key
to bring up the start menu. That should do it. By the way, the
