Hi Sue,
My experience with Avast is is that every time you start the program the scan is set to 50 percent (standard). My opinion is that people do scans more than is necessary. Remember that Avast is constantly monitering your data and software for viruses. I really think Avast is a very Jaws friendly program and is quite thorough in its anti virus function.

When scanning with Avast, is the thorough scan button highlighted by default does anyone know? I'm just wondering because after opening Avast, I check the local hard disks check box then press alt A to start the scan. I know that you can do a quick, standard and thorough scan and I'm just wondering if the thorough scan button is highlighted so that the thorough scan is performed each time you do a scan.

I hope this makes sense to someone as I've not explained myself very well.

Thanks.

Sue.
