What antivirus program are you using? An example of what could be
happening: Norton had (or has) an 'office plug'in' in its misc. tab, which
caused (or causes) problems of focus when office programs or documents are
opened. The solution is to disable the office scanner plug-in. The
antivirus general program should be adequate. If it's not of that, then
some other program you now have that's running in the background is probably
stealing focus at these times.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problem when opening MS Word

Hi All,

When I open MS Word Jaws normally says document 1, now when I open MS Word
Jaws doesn't say anything, but if I alt, tab there is Jaws saying document
1. I am running XP & Office 2002 Homewith Jaws 9 & 10. Could someone
please tell me why I am having to alt + tab to a different window to get to
document 1 after opening and how to correct this issue? All advice will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.

Mike
