hi karen
the beeps is the bios when the pc loads up. I hope we are talking about
the same ones here. would have to hear them. but my laptop does 2 short
and one long beep, means all has loaded correctly as far as the core
stuff. if they ever change in lenght or otherwise then that indicates that
there is something fishy. I used to have a list even that listed what beep
is for what and the erro stuff and so forth.
as far as jwas...have you made sure to tell it to load on start up? if not
you need to set this up in jaws basic options menu.
also to load jaws whenever it is for some reason not loading or you need
to disabel it for something temporarly xou can assign a short cut
keycommand.
to do that go on your desktop and find the jaws icon, use the applications
key and find 'properties' in the menu. then tab to key shortcut and use
whichever key. best to use j so it does not interfer with one alraedy in
use.

chrissy

Subject: [JAWS-Users] more questions
Hi, sometimes I feel that I will never get to the point where I know
enough what to do. So, once again, have a question. Thank you to those
who have responded to my questions. When I go to turn on the computer,
having some kind of problem. Windows chime does not come up and no jaws
saying jaws ready either. Just get two loud beeps, or nothing at all. I
don't dare turn this off now that I somehow have it working. Not sure
what is wrong what those beeps mean? Thanks.
