Believe it or not that little program as bad as it sounds is behind many of
the voices we all use. If you break SAPI for example it is unlikely that any
of your real speak voices will work at all.

You ccan change the default voice for the Windows 2k version of Narrator,
but not the XP version, which is defaulted to Microsoft Sam. The only way
to change the default voice in XP Narrator is to hack into the registry.

Hi Victor,
What you are changeing is the computer's default voice.
This is not the same as changeing the voice for Narrator.
To view the available voices for Narrator,
you will need to bring up Narrator, and look in the voice options.

Going to the text to speech tab in the sounds option in control panel.
I also do the change in the speech option in control panel, just in case
it
doesn't click the first time.
