Jaws has enough problems in XP-32 that a jump to the 64 bit
architecture would create more problems then it would solve.
My question is how much third party support is out there for
the 64 bit windows operating system and how accessible will
it be?

Windows version of JAWS 10 announced

Again, I agree with you that XP is better, and that most
people will not
switch to Vista. I am one of those people who finds 98 to be
excellent.
My point is, though, that JAWS is not the only one who does
not support
XP 64-bit. Many driver manufacturers, along with software
manufacturers
do not support 64-bit XP because the customer base for it
just is not
there. The majority are using XP, and 32-bit XP at that.
