Ah that did it!

Thanks to all who helped. I never think to go to those verbosity settings. I don't know what language Jaws thought it was reading, it certainly wasn't French or any sort of Spanish I recognize. Must be something in the font used or maybe some extraneous HTML coding?

Anyway, once told to ignore language the Site reads like it should.

Very weird!

Hi,

I have had a similar problem when using the staples.ca site. There is
something on the site which causes the problem. I have gotten around the
problem by creating a personalized web setting for this page which turns
language detection off.

This was using Jaws 9 under Windows XP.

I hope this helps,
Ryan

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Help with Staples.ca please

Good morning,

I am trying to use the Staples stationary store on line. For some reason,
anything off of the start page talks like it is in a foreign language. It
seems to read correctly with the Jaws cursor. This is not the French
edition, that too speaks in French as one might expect.

Using Jaws 9 under Vista.

Could some others please check this site for me and let me know if it works
the same for them?

The opening page is fine, everything after that though.

The URL is

www.staples.ca

Maybe an Eloquence issue?
