Hello Don,
In the JAWS interface under the help menu there is a menu choice for the
"startup wizard." (Of course, you can move to the JAWS window by pressing
JAWS key with the letter "J)." When you press enter on the menu choice, the
"startup wizard" dialog box will appear. The first page of the dialog box
has a slider control for adjusting the rate of speech. Use page up and page
down keys to adjust the rate by 10% at a time, or use up and down arrow keys
to adjust the rate a percentage point at a time.
After adjusting the rate you can use tab key a few times and press spacebar
on the "next" button. The second page of the dialog box contains controls
for when the "startup" wizard should be used. There is a checkbox that you
can use spacebar on to determine whether or not the wizard starts at the log
on screen. There is a checkbox that determines whether or not JAWS should
start after log on for all users. There is a combo box where you can choose
if JAWS should start after log on for the current user. The combo box
choices are "always", "never", and using the all users setting. . If
you don't want the startup wizard to start at the logon screen then remove
the checkmark from the appropriate checkbox. To complete the wizard
continue pressing spacebar on the "next" button after making choices in the
various dialog box pages. There will be a "finish" button in the final page
of the dialog box that you can use spacebar on to complete the wizard.
Take care.
Brian Lee

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 10.0 startup wizard
Hello,
Happy New Year to everyone.
I have a minor more annoying problem then anything with Jaws 10.0 startup
wizard that comes up every time boot up my computer plus Jaws speaks real
slow like at the default settings when first installed Jaws which happen
at
the log on screen in windows xp pro. So wondered if anyone else has this
kind of or similar problem and if so how did you solve it?
I was hoping didn't have to uninstall Jaws just to fix this problem.
Thanks.
