You should probably contact the AVG folks.
This is just speculation, but it could be that your uninstall didn't
completely get rid of it, and something may be confusing the free version
with the paid version at the registry level.

The strange thing is I could download email but was blocked from going on
any web site. Does anyone have any idea why AVG free 8.0 is now requiring
