may I say, sometimes it depends? Normally, the advice is to leave them in
situ - when
all is well and good. But, if you are having some problems or quirks with
your version of JAWS in use, and need to uninstall and then reinstall it, as
between corrupted downloaded versions and CD versions, then you would or at
least could remove shared files during that uninstallation. (I did all of
this when I reinstalled the first full eelease of JAWS10 from CD. No ill
effects resulted.)

Keep them intact as removing them will cause JAWS to no longer function.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Removing Shared Files When Uninstalling Older
versionsof JAWS

Hi, all.

I have several old versions of JAWS I no longer use. They're versions 5, 6,
7, and 9. I'm wanting to keep version 8 and 10 installed and remove the
others.

I know that I'm going to be prompted about removing some FS shared files
when uninstalling the previous versions.

Should I remove the shared files or keep them intact.

TIA,

Lisa
