Good afternoon,
One reason, though perhaps not compelling, is that IE8 has some
support for the ARIA (accessible rich internet application) draft
recommendation. I say not compelling because there are very few web
applications making use of it at this time. I believe that gmail and
the associated web chat do become more usable.
Also, ReefChat (http://reefchat.overscore.com) is a web based chat
client that will make heavy use of ARIA and will end up being as easy
to use with JAWS as Windows Messenger.
HTH,
Everett

Just a general question I suppose regarding upgrading from IE7 to
IE8. For those of you who already upgraded can you tell me one or
two compelling reasons why I should upgrade? For example, when I
upgraded from IE6 to IE7 one aspect of IE7 I really discovered
useful was the ability to have several pages loaded at the same time
when IE7 is launched. This feature saved a lot of unnecessary typing
of web addresses.
