But what happens if you aren't in the system tray and press Shift + Jaws + B? Usually if the computer is plugged in Jaws will say "Battery status not found." but when running from battery Jaws will report the battery status.

When I'm in the system tray, my laptop gives me the battery status. It also says that it is on external power if it is plugged in.

Mine did when I had my old micron pc laptop. I wonder if that changed
over the past 7 years.

It will usually not report battery status when the computer is plugged
in because of the text that the script looks for. You would have to
look at the script to know why, I just forget but you could probably
rewrite or modify the script to read status when the computer is
plugged in.

That happens to me with xp pro and jaws 10, but it also happened
with me with 6 7 and 9 as well.

I know not why I just usually asume it is charging.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Battery Status not found

Hi all. I'm using the sixty four bit windows Vista with the latest
final
release of jaws ten. When I went to see if the battery was charging
with shift plus jaws key plus b I hear battery status not found. The
only way I knew if it is charging is if I look at the Icon in my
system tray. is there any reason why this would be happening?
Thanks for any help;\
