Outlook Express, the email program, was not upgraded past version 6.2900 whatever. Windows Update automatically updates programs that need to be updated (with critical updates). other updates are called "recommended updates" and can be found on the windows update Web page. There, Windows update examines your system and then presents a list of suitable available updates.
