Hi Maralyn,

To fix the problem, go to the configuration manager under utilities.  Use
alt+S and choose the first item on the drop down menu.  If you tab a couple
times (I think twice)  you'll see the setting to change the typing echo.
Use the arrow key to set it to the choice you prefer then press enter.
Remember to save the setting.

Note: when you choose the configuration manager from the jaws utilities it
should say "default.jcf" when the manager opens.

Ever since I installed the jaws 10.114 update this morning, I am typing 
soundlessly.  I can read with sound, including backspace erasures.  Sould I 
reinstall jaws 10 over it?  On the setup, I may have done something wrong, 
say with echoing.  marilyn
