Hi Marilyn,
If you press JAWS key and v, you will bring up the verbosity options.
Under this there should be an option for changing the Echo of your typing. If
this is set to off you will not hear what you type.
You can experiment with which setting you like but you will need to set it
in your default choices if you want it to stay they you set it.

Ever since I installed the jaws 10.114 update this morning, I am typing
soundlessly. I can read with sound, including backspace erasures. Sould I
reinstall jaws 10 over it? On the setup, I may have done something wrong,
say with echoing. marilyn
