Maybe you need to run a Jaws Repair. It just a suggestion.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] trouble getting Jaws to start automatically

Hi list,
I did a system restore on my Desktop. Afterwards, I found that Jaws 10 had stopped loading automatically at start up. I found the Jaws 10 icon on my desktop and pressed enter. I then went into options and then basics. I checked the "run Jaws automatically" check box. However, when I reboot my computer, I find Jaws 9 came up. Am I following the correct steps to get Jaws 10 to start automatically?
P.S Jaws 10 was starting automatically before the system restore.

thanks Jason
