Go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Arrow down to
network adaptors, and see if the wireless adaptor is listed.
Then check in admin tools, services and see if wireless0 is started,
if not start it.
if all that is good, see if wireless shows as a connection in the
list. if nothing shows then no adaptors are enabled.

After reinstaling XP pro I set about the task of reconfiguring my
D-links 524 wireless router. I went through all the steps via the
internet and noticed everything was still set to the previous
configuration and the final step said that the router was being
restarted. The problem is when I go to controll panel and network
setting I am unable to open it to input wireless router settings. I
tried hitting the enter key, routing jaws to pc and doing a left
mouse click, and routing jaws to pc and right click to open network
connection. None of these atempts are successful. So, as for now I
have to use the ethernet cable to get to the internet. Any theories
and solutions would be greatly appreciated.
