here's a relevant extraction from word's Help: "Finding text or other items". Turn on all punctuation to hear everything in the symbols. In order for all this to work, in the find & Replace Dialogue tab to: and turn on More button with spacebar; turn on formatting with spacebar; and activate the special menu button with spacebar. All of this works with JAWS. Now, also, in the dialogue itself, notice how a hot key is given after the special format character. This hot key may be typed after the carat sign.
