I hope so, because that is what I have! I am not sure there will be any
more details until the 26th when the offers start. I have heard that
upgrades of the Pro versions will be $99. I think the rules will be
somewhat relaxed. Microsoft learned a lot by Vista's bad reputation. I
think their marketing plan will be to hype that xx million copies of Windows
7 have been sold.
I need to get more info on XP upgrades and compatibility. I have an aging
Sony desktop running XP. I think it needs upgraded to Windows 7 or become
a Vinux media server.

This also might be the upgrade price for an upgrade from XP to Windows 7,
since Microsoft would like to get individuals and corporations who have
stayed clear of Vista and over forward! Vista is bloated and was not
ready
when it was first released. That gave it a bad reputation. It has
gotten much better and I like it better than
XP now. However, Vista still requires more hardware than it should! It
sounds like Windows solves a;all these problems without causing any
compatibility issues. This is historic! It is the first time that
Microsoft has ever announced a new operating system that is smaller and
requires less hardware than the previous version! It sounds great and I
plan on updating.

That is what I am scaredc about. I mean I like xp and haven't had any
problems, and I agree that you have to move with the technology, but I
don't want to have a computer that I can't even use that I have spent a
bunch of money on, but at the same time, do 't have the extra $200 to
pay
for the transition option to get an xp computer. Windows Vista computers
are now cheaper then xp ones.

I have had Vista since last August and twice now it has gone down with a
corrupt operating system failure. Unfortunately that wipes Jaws too and
although there is a recovery feature available on the Lenovo computers

need to access it through the BIOS which doesn't talk even when an

I had the option at the time of XP Pro which I didn't choose it just

wrong not to move with the evolving technology. Apparently Windows 7

a much lighter and more efficient operating system. Go figure, an

hmmm, vista isn't the bear people let it to be, i have a vist home
