Hi Jason,
After you assign the hotkey, do not shift tab.
Instead, tab until you come to the apply button, and spacebar that.
Then, tab thru the dialogue, and see if your shortcut key is still there, if
it is, tab to okay, and spacebar that.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] problems getting my Jaws 10 hotkey to stick
Hi list,
I have Jaws 10 on my desktop. I installed it quite some time ago. I have
tried setting up a hotkey for it. However, the hotkey doesn't seem to want
to work. When entering the hotkey I want of control alt 0. I shift tab
away from the field. And then tab back to make sure the information I
entered is there. However, when I finish the process, and then try the
hotkey, nothing happens. I had the same problem with Jaws 9. But don't
remember what I did to make it work.
Does anyone have any ideas?
thanks Jason.S I have also recently installed the latest Jaws 10 update
too. But that didn't have any effect.
