Donald,

Windows+d does not minimize all apps.  It just lands you on the desktop
without chaiging any other window.  Windows+m [m for minimize] should
minimize all apps, whether JAWS tells you so or not.  These keystrokes 
are independent of JAWS.

If Windows + m is not able to take you to the desktop, try the Windows +
d
combination.  It is a toggle.  Pressing Windows + d once will minimize
all
open windows.  Pressing a second time will restore the windows to their
original state.
