Hi, Once you are in the default keyboard manager, press the tab key to
hear a pull down list of items and it is here that you can type MU to
get to the mute synthesiser.
It worked for me and I have set control+shift+1 as my hot key.

I tried your instructions, but when I typed "mu" into the default
Keyboard Manager, I got no match.  I browsed through all the entries
that start with the letter M, but I could not find anything that
sounded like "Mute Synthesizer".  I'm running JAWS 9.  Am I doing
something wrong?
