Hi Victoria, You will need to use the Configuration Manager for this as follows since the "Exclaim: is on by default, even with Punctuation set to "none". You do this from within the application you wish to change punctuation for. I don't know what program you are reading in but if (when you open config manager) you get a "new configuration dialog", press enter to create one for the current application. If you don't, then the one which exists for say Notepad or Ms-Word for example will load automatically when you do the following. 1. Open the Config Manager with jawsKey plus Numrow6. 2. Press alt plus the letter S followed by the letter P to open the "Customize punctuation dialog". 3. The first item in the list is "Exclaim" and is set to all. Tab once and you have a group of "punctuation level" radio buttons with "the all" radio button already selected which says what level of punctuation category that symol is assigned to. 4. Press downarrow for none and press enter. 5. Save your changes with Control plus s and alt plus F4 closes the manager. Hope this does the trick and there is a Restore Default button in that same dialog if you don't like the results.

Hi, No I haven't turned it off in the Configuration Manager, because I thought that there my only option was to alter the default. I still want to have the keyboark echo a punctuation key, when I type it. Or if I am going across character by character, checking my typing. I just don't want to hear any punctuation, when I'm reading in a "Say All" situation. Do you have any sugestions for that spacific situation? I would be very greatful!
