Hello Listers, Regarding the accessible ipods, you may also want to use your third generation Symbian Nokia mobile phones, on which the two screen reader programs, talks and mobile speak run, to transfer books or music from your pc via Bluetooth or USB cable to the phone and listen to it via either the phone's music player, or third party software, available for mobile phones.
Then no additional purchase need be necessary if you already use a cel phone. One can use quality headsets with e.g. the Nokia N82. There is also a free program, called Szcheheresade available, which can play different formats of audio books, including, arm, mp3, wma and I think og, which is very accessible with the screenreaders on the third generation phones. I think the website for download of that program is platesoft software, or perhaps platesoft.com. Annette, I have never used an ipod before but am interested. I understand that the Nano can download a blind friendly program which makes it very usable. Can you give me some basic information about this ipod? Thank you for your information concerning the book.
