Hello Josh and David, Sorry, but this is incorrect.
All jaws versions one installs, create an icon on the desktop, so if you have nothing else on the desktop starting with a j, pressing that letter when on the desktop, will select jaws and you can then just enter. So without speech, pressing windows key with m, then j and then enter, should run jaws. You don't have to create a different hotkey. David,I don't believe there is a hot key automatically assigned to JAWS when installed, so unless you have assigned a hot key I believe you will have to use Narrator in order to turn JAWS back on or another option if you have JAWS set to automatically start when the computer loads up then you may try a restart. David this information is going by the assumption that your wife used the Jaws key + F4 to unload JAWS or the exit key to unload JAWS, that is the only information I know about it I hope this helps or someone else is able to offer more information on this matter and we both can learn something from it.
