You must first assign a hot key for Jaws.
Place the cursor on the Jaws icon, then press the applications key then
press R for propritys.. Then tab until you hear short cut key. At that time
you can assign the hot key combination you want.
Most people use control, alt, j. Then tab to apply, press space then tab
until ok, then space .

Yes, use control plusalt key plus the j key at the same time. In about
10 or 15 seconds after you press that key combination, you should hear the
message, jaws for windows is ready.
