In extend mode (EXT appears on the status bar), you can extend the selection using the arrow keys. So, in essence, that's how it should work. You may need to look through the tabs in Tools | Options, or else I don't know. Troubleshoot selecting text When I click the mouse or press a key, Microsoft Word automatically selects text. You may have turned on Extend Selection mode, which allows you to select text by clicking the mouse or pressing navigation keys. When this mode is active, the letters "EXT" appear on the status bar. To cancel Extend Selection mode, press ESC, and then click anywhere in your document. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike & Barbara" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 19, 2009 2:36 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] text selection mode > Hi Flor, > > I am running Word 2002 also, but when I press the F8 key to activate > the > text selection mode, then press the F8 key again to go from word, to > sentence, to paragraph, to document Jaws reads word or document .
